Hodgdon CFE Pistol Smokeless Gun Powder
Hodgdon CFE Pistol Smokeless. Hodgdon CFE Pistol is a spherical powder that was originally developed for US military application. This excellent pistol propellant utilizes the Hodgdon CFE formula, Copper Fouling Eraser, virtually eliminating copper fouling, plus providing top velocities with clean burning and minimal muzzle flash. For competitive shooters and hand loaders seeking the perfect powder for target or self-defense loads, CFE Pistol provides optimum performance in cartridges like the 9mm Luger, 38 Super, 40 S&W, the venerable 45 ACP and many more.
Warning About Smokeless Powder:
- Do not exceed the loads displayed in the reloaders guide.
- Never mix any two powders regardless of type, brand, or source.
- Never substitute any smokeless powder for Black Powder or any Black Powder substitute.

Have used the CFE in several caliber handguns. It does the job as designed but cannot say that it is superior to other powders I have used. It does meter and throw well with my RCBS powder dispenser.

I use this powder for 9mm, .38 and .357 reloading. This powder is very consistent and produces reliable reloads. It seems to burn much cleaner and produce better accuracy when loaded to at least 30,000psi levels.

I use this powder to load my 9 mm and it appeared to be working very well so far

I have been reloading ammo since 1994 which is when I became a MidwayUSA customer. A couple of years ago I decided to try the Hodgdon CFE pistol powder. I was able to develop loads for everything from 380 auto to 357 Mag. I currently using this for all of my range/practice ammo and some of my Gold Dot 9mm self defense rounds. This powder is clean burning, deletions plenty of energy and can give great consistent and accurate loads. Using less powder than other more well known powders. If you haven’t tried this powder it time you did. I not saying it’s the only powder you should use but it is a versatile low cost powder that is hard to beat

I have used this in 9mm , 45acp and 357sig. Works great in 9mm and 357sig. good speed and accuracy. No copper even after quite a few rounds and carbon cleaned up very quick. I think I’ll stick with titegroup for 45acp though.

I was looking for my regular 9mm and .40 S&W powder but couldn’t find any anywhere. Saw that this pistol powder was available and decided to try it. I liked it so much I ordered more canisters.

I use the product for reloading 9mm bullets. It is a fine powder that works real well and you get the results needed at the range. Would recommend this product to anyone that reloads.

Used for 9mm and .40 cal reloads. Has worked great with different ranges in grain weight depending on bullets used. Has been a great powder for what i use it for. I have personally used it for rn fn and hp bullets styles and all have been flawless.

I want to give it 5 stars but its extremely dirty. The accuracy is on point with 2 to 3 inch groups at 50yds, but my firearms are filthy afterwards. The granules (CFE?) end up in every crevice. It looks like unburnt powder but its not. After +/-500 of 9mm suppressed and there was literally a pile of granules in the last chamber of the suppressor. Even unsuppressed, the granules end up littering the trigger group and magazines. With that being said, I like the stuff. Measures well, shoots accurate, and after cleanup the barrel looks great. Will definitely buy again.

I loaded some of this with 147gr Berry’s plated projectiles in 9mm. With the low charges it seems to leave a little unburned powder in the barrel. Closer to max load weight, the powder burns completely. As far as accuracy, it is just as accurate as Bullseye, Unique, or 231, just burns cleaner. After firing 250 of the loads I worked-up to, my barrel was very clean without any unburned powder or copper fouling. I will be experimenting w
