These primers utilize modern non-corrosive and non-mercuric initiator mixes for the cleanest burn possible. One of the benefits of using primers specifically designed for muzzleloading rifles is that they are milder than regular 209 shotshell primers meaning they do not force the powder charge forward helping to maintain consistent velocities and they help to minimize the formation of crud rings. These primers are not designed to be used in shotshells, they are for muzzleloading rifles only.

  1. Aristotle

    Works great. Zone issues.

  2. Joe at Camp Pendleton

Tried these, out of ten shots, 1 fail to fire, 2 hang fires using 777 powder.

    Bottom Line

  3. Anthony

    Great product

  4. Matty

Works awesome and makes it easier to clean your black powder rifle

  5. gtldvm

CCI has been my go-to for reloading for years. So when I decided to take up shooting a muzzleloader to hunt with, I thought this was a no-brainer. Unfortunately 4 out of the first 30 used resulted in misfires…more like failure to fire. I’m hoping to find something more reliable to deer hunt with, as I don’t want to miss out on the buck of a lifetime over a failed primer. This experience is out of a brand-new Thompson Center Encore Pro Hunter XT. All primers that failed to fire were heavily dimpled from the firing pin.

New to black powder sport.. They seem to do what they are suppose to.
